Social Groups & Hangouts
Our Social Group and Hangout Programme provides a supportive and safe environment where neurodiverse individuals of different stages of life can meet and interact, and build and maintain friendships, through similar interests and activities.

Designed like a club, this programme gives young people the opportunity to meet and connect with peers who share similar interests and experiences. It fosters a sense of belonging and connection helping participants build meaningful friendships. Activities are participant-led, ensuring everyone has a voice in choosing what they enjoy. So far, activities have included indoor and outdoor games, sports, café hopping, park visits, quick stops at the nearest Family Mart or 7-11, hanging out at each other’s homes, watching movies, trips to the mall, community service projects, and much more. We are constantly exploring the community and neighbourhood, creating vibrant and memorable experiences.
Trained social coaches facilitate the experience, providing both direct and indirect guidance to help participants safely and respectfully develop social skills through real-world interactions. Children and teens are encouraged to express themselves, consider different perspectives, show care and curiosity, adapt to group dynamics, propose ideas, plan, engage in productive discussions, and much more. When deeper conversations are needed, coaches create dedicated sit-down moments to clarify doubts, explore solutions, and address expectations or questions about the social world that participants encounter with their peers.
Our Hangouts programme is designed to create a safe and supportive space and social opportunities where everyone feels valued, respected, and included. Participants can enjoy meaningful companionship while connecting with peers in the community. These regular social gatherings and hangouts help young people build self-confidence, foster independence, and develop essential skills to navigate their social experiences with ease. The programme also offers families opportunities to connect, share their experiences, and build a strong, supportive network. Remarkably, our longest group of friends has been enjoying these hangouts together since 2013!
We currently run groups for different age ranges and communication styles throughout the week, including 5–7-year-olds, 12–16-year-olds, and 14–18-year-olds. Children and teens are matched based on their compatibility and connections to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
